CounselorEdEval is being developed to bring together accreditation support, continuing education, teaching and learning resources, exam preparation, professional connections, and future practice-management tools in a counseling-specific ecosystem.
Our goal is to reduce avoidable burden, strengthen learning and professional development, and use technology where it adds value—while preserving professional judgment, human oversight, accountability, and the relationships at the center of counseling.
Resources & Tools
CounselorEdEval is currently in development. The offerings below represent the resources, systems, and tools being built for the counseling profession.
01 — IN DEVELOPMENT
Counseling-specific continuing education is in development for ongoing professional growth, including courses addressing emerging issues in professional counseling practice, counselor education, supervision, and responsible AI use. Qualifying courses are intended to offer NBCC credit, subject to applicable approval requirements.
02 — IN DEVELOPMENT
CACREP-aligned tools are in development for managing accreditation and program evaluation, organizing evidence and student learning artifacts, supporting curriculum and learning-outcome alignment, tracking assessment data, identifying gaps in counselor preparation, supporting student assessment, retention, remediation, and gatekeeping processes, helping faculty connect identified needs with targeted learning and remediation resources, and generating reports.
03 — IN DEVELOPMENT
Instructor-facilitated teaching resources and self-directed learning resources are in development specifically for counselor education and professional development, including syllabi and learning outcomes, course-development supports, targeted remediation, and counseling, supervision, teaching, and research skill development. Planned resources include a counseling wiki and AI-supported learning tools for skill development and remediation.
04 — IN DEVELOPMENT
Structured resources are in development for counselor credentialing examinations such as the NCE, with practice and learning materials designed to strengthen content knowledge, identify areas for further study, and support exam readiness. Future credentialing tools will support the transition from degree completion to professional credentialing, including licensure, certification, and endorsement tracking.
05 — IN DEVELOPMENT
A searchable directory is in development to help clients find counselors, counselors and counselors-in-training find supervisors, and professionals connect with colleagues who share counseling practice, teaching, supervision, or research interests. Planned professional profile and career tools will support professional accomplishment tracking and job search.
06 — IN DEVELOPMENT
Tools being developed to support professional counseling practice, counseling practice workflows, supervision, and professional reflection. Planned capabilities include practice management functions, AI-assisted analysis of client and session patterns, and supervisor-development analytics examining patterns such as supervisor and supervisee speaking time, question types, reflective responses, and feedback patterns. These tools will be designed to preserve clinical and supervisory judgment, privacy, human oversight, and professional responsibility.

AI can reflect limitations and bias in both the systems producing responses and the context, assumptions, and instructions people provide. We emphasize thoughtful context-setting, explicit protocols, critical review, transparency, human oversight, privacy, security, and professional accountability when AI is used to support counseling-related work. We support responsible AI literacy by helping counseling professionals understand how context, assumptions, instructions, and system limitations can influence AI-supported work.
